LUKAS trash rack systems are customized solutions for protecting systems and turbines. We manufacture trash racks in a wide variety of materials. A large number of modern LUKAS trash rack cleaning systems are available for cleaning trash rack fields. We offer crank trash rack cleaners for very small systems.
Trash rack fields
We offer a wide range of trash racks for all sizes of hydropower plant. Each individual trash rack is the result of the precise manufacture of high-quality materials. Our horizontal or vertical trash racks are bolted or welded and allow for all dimensions thanks to standardized profiles. Mainly fish-friendly river trash rack profiles with different bar cross-sections are used. Large or small bar cross-sections can be realized. Optionally, it is possible to implement trash rack extensions and bottom rails.
LUKAS trash rack for flotsam are particularly effective and reliable, consisting of numerous parallel bars. Our special fine trash racks ensure that the hydropower plant – especially the turbine – is not damaged by foreign bodies and that no fish can get into the turbine.

Trash rack cleaner
Foreign bodies that get stuck in the trash racks of the hydropower plant must be combed out regularly with trash rack cleaners. The LUKAS trash rack cleaner product range is as diverse as the hydropower plants themselves – which means that we are able to supply trash rack cleaners that are precisely tailored to the plant.
Articulated trash rack cleaner
LUKAS articulated trash rack cleaners clear a wide variety of floating debris, especially heavy flotsam in large hydropower plants. The large operating radius of the pivoting articulated trash rack cleaner ensures the transverse transportation of bulky goods. Our cleaners impress with their fully hydraulic drive and are suitable for almost all trash rack sizes. Manual operation is possible directly on the trash rack cleaner. The attached path measurement enables space-optimized immersion of the rake.

Horizontal trash rack cleaner
LUKAS horizontal trash rack cleaners have been developed for intake trash racks with horizontally arranged trash rack bars. Heavy, bulky and fine floating debris is combed out fully automatically. In this process, the cleared material is not removed from the river water, but passed on immediately. The drive can be electric or hydraulic. Thanks to individual clearing lengths, the horizontal trash rack cleaner is highly efficient. Special features such as duplex coating and brush strips are possible.

Telescopic trash rack cleaner
LUKAS telescopic trash rack cleaners have been developed for power plants with limited space. The trash rack cleaner is operated hydraulically and is suitable for almost all trash rack sizes. The hydraulic unit is mounted on the trash rack cleaner or provided in the building. The telescopic system is guided by rollers or plastic sliding guides with special sliding properties. Manual operation is possible directly on the trash rack cleaner. For particularly wide trash rack sections, we also offer mobile trash rack cleaners that clean the trash rack section at several positions in succession and, if necessary, deposit the cleared material in a container.

Crank trash rack cleaner
LUKAS crank trash rack cleaners are designed for small hydropower plants. Compact design, high reliability and low purchase costs make the cleaner particularly interesting for private operators. Thanks to its simple design, the cranktrash rack cleaner is almost maintenance-free. All manual operation is carried out directly on the trash rack cleaner.
